How Interior Designers Could Use Ink to Offer Better Bathroom Designs

Modern bathroom interior

The average budget for a simple bathroom renovation among Australian households cost more than $10,000, based on industry surveys. Interior designers should take advantage of this spending pattern to drum up more business. One way to do so involves using solvent ink for designing wallpapers and wall art. Each homeowner’s willingness to spend more depends on their age. Younger people are less likely to set a large budget.

Better Designs

Some types of ink include the Roland Eco-Solvent Ink brand. Jetmark, a sign-making expert, shares that designers could choose from a broad variety of ink sets for wide-format printers. Since some homeowners look for a unique design, you could use solvent ink to produce eye-popping colours on walls and curtains.

On average, a bathroom renovation costs $17,522, based on a Housing Industry Association survey for 2017 to 2018. Houzz Australia’s study estimated the average price at a lower figure depending on the size. A five-square-metre bathroom renovation would cost $9,700, while a bigger one costs $13,200. Homeowners are more inclined to spend on fixtures when remodelling their bathrooms, so you should be able to convince them that adding bright colours is a good thing for a renovation.

Advantages of Ink

Eco-solvent inks are a more sustainable choice than petroleum-based variants, so it’s easier to market your products as environmentally friendly. Vegetable- and soy-based solvent inks produce less volatile organic compounds (VOC) when they dry compared to petroleum-based inks. Some brands don’t emit VOC.

Solvent inks are also easier to recycle since they are easier to remove during the de-inking process. You may think that they are expensive with all of their sustainable features, but coloured and black variants cost around the same with petroleum-based inks.

Australians spend more on bathroom renovations partly because they want to have their own private space. Interior designers may take advantage of this trend by using new yet cheap ways to improve their work portfolios.
